50 years of Worship at Trinity. Amazing!

In March 1968 there was a Labour Government with Harold Wilson as Prime Minister, Prince Charles was Prince of Wales, and Harry Secombe appeared in Oliver! Tom Jones released Delilah, Mary Hopkin rises to fame on Opportunity Knocks and Wales lost to France in what was then the 5 Nations.

Much has changed in this 50 years, except for Prince Charles of course, and, I hope much has changed in our lives too….I was 2 years old so much has definitely changed for me!

And so we gather to celebrate, as David Bowie put it, these Golden Years. Having founder members amongst still us, is fantastic. The prayers, giving, hard work and worship that has sustained these folk is to be highly commended. The welcome of others that has allowed Trinity to develop and grow is seen by many others that have entered this worship life. New ideas have sprung up enabling the building to be a beacon of Christ’s life in this community, and we can celebrate 50 years of worship together as Christ’s people.

Jesus is ‘the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End’. [Revelation 22:13]

My hope and prayer is that, we, as Trinity are at Kappa in this scenario, maybe half way through our Mission as we look ahead to the next 50 years of worshipping the Living God.

We are delighted that we can welcome our Chair of District, Rev Stephen Wigley, to open our Golden Year as a Worshipping Community of Jesus Christ, and may the Holy Trinity bless us mightily this coming year.
